When tradition calls Chiron a bridge between the two, that is not a pretty image: it is the geometry of the orbit, and it is the one place in astrology where the reading matches what the telescope sees.
A full orbit takes 50.07 years, measured and not rounded. That is what makes the Chiron return land at roughly the same age for everyone, and the page comes back to it further down.
Why Chiron spends 2.12 years in Leo, and not the same time in every sign
